I studied nutritional sciences with an emphasis in dietetics because I really love how food is involved in everyone’s life. People have different cultural perspectives on food, but everyone has a connection to it and I love helping people strengthen that connection. Our commitment to the communities we serve is what attracted me to Mountain Park, along with the integrated care model, which allows us to focus on the whole person, rather than just one aspect of their health.
Everyone has a story and everyone wants to be heard. My patients can expect that I will listen and understand where they’re coming from, as well as the barriers they’re dealing with, so we can decide together what goals they need to work toward.
In my free time, I love painting, playing drums, spending time with my family and cooking with my husband. I met my husband when we were both serving over two years in Peace Corps Zambia and we have since traveled to over 10 countries together and plan on adding more to that list! We’re always trying new foods and I imagine if I hadn’t gone into this profession, I would have set my sights on becoming a judge on the show Chopped or a food and travel blogger. We also love playing with our dog, Athena. Every morning, I start my day at the dog park.
